KAYLA + HARRY ENGAGED!

I met up with Kayla and Harry in downtown Athens, where they met while attending college at UGA. This e-shoot was OH so fun. Why? Because this couple had loads of chemistry and they weren’t afraid to be themselves in front of me within five minutes of meeting me. It was a treat spending time with them. Meet Harry and Kayla. : )

ANNE-LAURE + DALLAS – France Wedding

Dallas and Anne-Laure were married on the weekend after Bastille Day (French National Day) in Noirmoutier, France. Say helloooo to this gorgeous couple:

Like I said in my e-shoot post, these two are so special to me. I wish they didn’t live in Denmark! Hopefully one day, when we’re all not expecting it… they’ll move back to the U.S. : ) I was incredibly lucky to get to document their big day, and I’ll always treasure this experience of a lifetime. You guys (and your families, of course!) are THE BEST. Congrats a thousand times over, you two!

The dutiful matron of honor wrangling the men… : )

You are stunning, AL!

This is the MOST funny “Blue Steel” photo that I’ll ever take. Hands DOWN.

Dallas giving a nod to where he grew up (the U.S.) and where he got married (France). Love!

The moment below is right after the priest blessed the rings and Anne-Laure accidentally dropped Dallas’s. Love the priest’s face…

This shot is for Dallas’s mother – FIST PUMP!

Love this of Anne-Laure looking at Dallas’s dad.

One of the bridesmaids was joking about being in Anne-Laure & Dallas’s “married” session. Most awkward and HILARIOUS photo ever!

Waving to the many tourists that flocked to the island that weekend…

There was so much food! Lots of little tastings instead of big servings… great idea!

Mother of the groom getting teared up. Priceless.

They went into their first dance swaying slowly…

…and then kicked it up a notch!

In France, the tradition is to cut and share brioche, or sweet bread, instead of a wedding cake. It was delicious!

And of course I’m ending with a macaron ring shot – it’s a traditional French confectionery. They were absurdly tasty. : )

LAURA BRIDAL: UNVEILED!

If you read my blog regularly, you may remember these sparkly Enzo shoes in a teaser post… Those cute heels belong to Laura, and she married her love this past weekend! I am finally able to share her bridal session magic. We did the shoot in Waxhaw, North Carolina where her parents live. Her dad is a pilot, so we had fun incorporating his plane into some shots, and the thunderstorms that day produced some pretty incredible clouds. Enjoy the beautiful Mrs. Xanders! The first one she chose to display as her canvas:

I had to grab a shot of this cute little Dachshund wandering around the small runway where we were shooting:

Towards the end of the shoot, we did a few shots of Zum and Laura’s pup, Finley, and she ended up framing one for him as part of his wedding gift. So sweet!

ANNE-LAURE + DALLAS ENGAGED!

This couple is a special one to me. As I grew up, Dallas was my brother’s best friend and he was like a second big brother to me. After college, he moved to Copenhagen, Denmark for his job and met a girl. Not just ANY girl… the girl he eventually asked to be his wife. And let me tell you. This. girl. is. amazing. She lights up a room, puts a smile on your face, listens with her whole heart and, above all, makes Dallas the happiest man on Earth. I was incredibly touched when they asked me to come all the way to France to shoot their wedding this summer… not to mention EXCITED AS ALL GET OUT. I got the chance to travel to France for the first time and see where Anne-Laure grew up, which is on the charming island of Noirmoutier.

A couple days before their wedding, we explored the beach and woodsy areas of the island and did some engagement photos. I had them smooching in trees, on the sand, in the marsh… It is a lovely place! And they are one lovely pair. And Anne-Laure gets ALMOST as excited as I do about beautiful light and sun flare. We must be kindred spirits. : ) On to the photos – their wedding is up next!

For the above photo, I asked them to look tough. I straight up told Dallas he looked constipated. And then, the awesome below photo happened. Reaction shots are sometimes the best! : )

A little nod to The Karate Kid…

Love.

AAAAND one of the many reasons I love this couple: great sense of humor. This is hysterical.
