SUZIE MARIE: BABY

I’ve been photographing some beautiful babies lately — lucky me! Sweet Suzie Marie is no exception. I met her parents through one of my hubby’s law school functions; I saw Suzie Marie strapped to her mama in the Björn and was smitten! : ) Here are some favorites of my time with 11-weeks-old Suzie Marie and her parents.

Such big, gorgeous eyes!

Absolute fave.

She loves her mobile!

MARINA + JUSTIN ENGAGED!

It only took a few minutes for Marina & Justin to warm up in front of the camera. They are so comfortable together and happy and it certainly shows! I met up with them to do their engagement shoot in Charlotte, NC. We started out just around the corner from their neighborhood — Freedom Park — and then (because of the spotty rain), we headed uptown to the Urban Garden. Such a cool spot with lots of natural light. Enjoy a glimpse in the world of these two lovebirds. : )

Love this one!

Another absolute fave!

Work it, Marina!

DARCY + DANIEL – N.C. Arboretum & Pack’s Tavern Wedding

Darcy & Daniel — let me tell you about these two. They are awesome peeps and so were their wedding guests! On the day they tied the knot, I was surrounded by incredibly NICE and FUN people and so much LOVE. Case in point:

You may remember Darcy & Daniel from their e-shoot. They are big UNC fans but ultimately decided to have the wedding in Darcy’s hometown of Asheville, North Carolina. But as a nod to their alma mater (and the place they met), Darcy and Daniel included some UNC flair in the decor and colors. Regular followers of my blog know that I was in heaven, because I bleed Carolina blue and Asheville is one of my favorite cities! : )

Bride’s dress: David’s Bridal
Bride’s shoes: TOMS
Bridesmaids’ dresses: Priscilla of Boston (salons now closed)
Groom and groomsmen attire: J.Crew
Hair: suraj spa and salon
Invitations: Savannah Nance, friend of the couple
Florals: Dana Rice Blair, bride’s sister
Ceremony music: Danielle & Danny Bishop, bride’s cousins
Program chalkboard (in lieu of traditional paper programs – eco-friendly!): Eddie Rice, bride’s father
Cake: Cakes by Jane
Cake topper: Dana Rice Blair, bride’s sister
Dessert table goodies: made with love by the bride & groom and friends & family
DJ: James Donaldson of Sound Extreme Entertainment
Caterer: The Century Room at Pack’s Tavern

Daniel & Darcy were married at the GORGEOUS North Carolina Arboretum, and the celebration followed at The Centry Room at Pack’s Tavern. It was threatening rain all day (and even started drizzling a couple of hours before their ceremony), but as the ceremony was set to begin, the sun peeked out! Seriously, this couple has got some amazeballs karma, and I know why — they’re so genuine and care so much for others! D-squared, I’m SO happy and humbled to have documented your wedding! Enjoy some of my favorites!

Special shout out and thanks to Tye Harris, who helped me shoot their wedding. She rocks and I’ve included some of her shots in this post!

Darcy and I are kindred spirits — I shoot in the same shoes! : )

LOVED this. Darcy borrowed engagement rings from mothers and grandmothers and wore them on an ivory ribbon as a necklace, as they are examples of strong marriages before her own. How creative is she and how sweet is that?

These girls were so much fun! My angle…

… and Tye’s view.

Darcy’s sweet nieces were the flower girls.

Daniel requested this pose as it’s an “inside” thing with his guys. I like it. : )
This little dude was SO STINKIN’ CUTE. Oh my goodness that bow tie!

My good friend, Meg, was one of the ceremony readers. Absolutely adored what she read — Paul Newman’s letter to his wife on their wedding day.

More cuteness!

Great exit shot by Tye…

… and the reaction of the bridesmaids as well! : )

All the guests in one photo — love when couples want to plan for this. So neat!

Love their smiles in this!
I was laughing about half of the portrait period with them… such a fun group!
FIST BUMP!

Such a lovely dessert table! And the cake toppers were AMAZING (done by the bride’s sister)!

Some hilarious kid shots by Tye!

This one is for the bride’s father.  : )

A past bride & groom – Tracy & Clark! So happy to see them! : )

CLANCY + A.J. – Abacos Wedding – Part II of II

Clancy & A.J. got married in tropical paradise. I LOVE this image of them recessing down the aisle as a married couple. So happy!

A.J. and Clancy met through their love of yachting, so naturally their special day was held near the water… a GORGEOUS beach front at the Hope Town Harbour Lodge, to be exact. Hope Town is a very special place to them. Clancy has been visiting the Abacos since she was a little, spending summers on their family sailboat. She introduced A.J. to Hope Town, and they now mutually share a strong love for the island, people and water, traveling often for getaways from hectic day-to-day life.

I love it when a couple’s wedding location bears so much meaning to them. Enjoy the beauty, emotion and boundless fun times from this happy day. Loads of best wishes to Clancy + A.J. — you two are awesome and thank you for inviting me to photograph your wedding. I was not only in tropical paradise, but a visual one, too! : )

Bride’s dress: Monique Lhuillier
Bride’s shoes: Stephen Bonanno
Bridesmaids’ dresses: J. Crew
Groom’s attire: Brooks Brothers
Groomsmen attire: Androsia ties and Dockers sandals
Florals: Buds ‘N Blooms Bahamas
Coordinator: Tom Hazel of Hope Town Harbour Lodge
Ceremony music: Shane Cash of Local Vibe
Cake: Kent Leboutillier
Reception music: New Entry Band
Caterer: Hope Town Harbour Lodge

The view from where the girls got ready… I don’t hate it.

Clancy, you are gorgeous!

I adore this one of A.J. and his mom.

The ring bearers were SO CUTE. And yes, that photo on the lower left is proof that the little dude took the ring off the ribbon. Haha!

LOVE this series of A.J. spotting his bride for the first time…

Clancy’s gorgeous veil was all over the place on the windy beach, which made for some awesome photos!

Loved my time with these two alone — not only are they loads of fun but they’re just so stunning together!

The photo booth was a hit!

CLANCY + A.J. – Abacos Wedding – Part I of II

I’ve got a little piece of tropical paradise to share with you today! Earlier in April, I flew down to Hope Town on the island of Elbow Cay in the Bahamas to photograph Clancy & A.J.’s wedding. I had such a wonderful time visiting the island again! Be on the lookout for their beautiful beach wedding later this week, but for now, please enjoy some of my favorites from their rehearsal dinner at Harbour’s Edge. : )

It was a tad too windy to do the rehearsal on the beach, so they opted to do a run through on the lawn. How adorable are the ring bearers?

Awesome hairpiece!

The gorgeous necklaces that Clancy gave her bridesmaids.

Love this shot of Clancy in her pirate hat!

The bride-to-be and her “Bahamasistas”!

The happy couple. : )
