CAROLINE + ROBERT ENGAGED!

Caroline & Robert are getting married in New Orleans next spring, but Atlanta is a very special place to them — it’s where they got engaged! I met up with them last month to do engagement photos in Centennial Park (near where Robert proposed) and Reynoldstown, a hip neighborhood right outside of downtown Atlanta. They were fun to photograph, and I loved Caroline’s sassy heels! Enjoy some of my favorites from their shoot. : )

They are both huge LSU fans, but Caroline went to grad school at UGA, so she has some allegiance to the Dawgs. : )

Mary - Love the dress-up downtown shots! Great photos, Mel!

RACHAEL + JARAN ENGAGED!

I met up with Rachael & Jaran in late September on a gorrrrgeous fall day to shoot their engagement session at The Farm in Rome, Georgia. This place is awesome! Such a lovely spot for endless photo ops. And y’all know how much I travel, so it was a double treat for me, being close to Rome. But, the best thing? These two snugglers. : ) We all had fun wandering around the property, and I can’t wait for their wedding next spring!

Get it, lady!

They are so playful. : )

Love their sense of humor!

One of my most faves!

RILEY

We got a new puppy. Are we insane? Maybe. The hubs has wanted a third dog for awhile, and I finally caved. He is a Cavachon — a mix between a King Charles Cavalier Spaniel and Bichon Frise. Hubs and I joke that he’s a mix between Bella and Sadie. : ) We got him yesterday and have named him Riley. He has gotten along well with his sisters so far. Bella has asserted her Alpha female on him a few times, and Sadie thought it’d be hilarious to roll in pooh this morning for attention… but all in all, everyone is getting along nicely. : )

If it takes me longer than usual to respond to emails/calls, it’s because I’m on puppy duty while the hubby is at work. Thanks in advance for everyone’s patience as we all settle into a routine! Meet Riley (snapped this of him this morning — he needs a bath!).

And just for good measure, one of the three amigos. : )

MEREDITH + CHARLES – Imperial Centre Wedding – Part II of II

Y’all, meet Meredith & Charles. Aren’t they both just gorgeous?

When I think about this wedding, I think about the word resilience. On their wedding day, Meredith and Charles were the DEFINITION of resilience. Of course, their whole wedding was jaw-droppingly gorgeous (everyone dressed to the nines, the perfect florals, a restored pink Cadillac crafted into a BAR!), but it ultimately centered around the love of Meredith & Charles (both the love they share for each other and the love their guests have for them).

Let me explain. The reception held at the Imperial Centre was inside-outside, and the beautiful tent that was set up outside was completely flooded by an ANGRY thunderstorm. Did that sink in? COMPLETELY flooded. Can you imagine? The band was out of commission, the outside food had to be rushed inside, the Cadillac bar was marooned… and so on. BUT… this is where my love for this couple comes in: it didn’t phase Charles and Meredith. Nope, not one bit! I don’t think I once saw them flustered by the situation. Everyone (the guests included) made the best out of the situation and danced their tushes off to an iPod in another area of the Imperial Centre. I just LOVE how everyone totally made the best out of a rather unfortunate situation. It really showcases the meaning behind the day.

Okay, enough out of me. On to my favorites from their day. Congrats to the happy couple! Y’all are the best. : )

MEREDITH + CHARLES – Imperial Centre Wedding – Part I of II

I had a lovely time documenting Charles & Meredith’s wedding weekend. They are good people! : ) Here are a few favorites of mine from their rehearsal dinner at the Benvenue Country Club in Rocky Mount, North Carolina. My favorite part of the evening was all the eloquent, touching, sometimes hilarious toasts. Stay tuned for their beautiful wedding to hit the blog soon!

I was told by the bartender that it was a special request to have Miller High Life at the party, so it’s also made a special appearance on the blog. : )

I have to share what Meredith’s mother said at the beginning of her speech. She held up the RSVP card to the wedding that Charles had filled out and it said: “You can count on me!” I love that.
