MEREDITH + CHARLES – Imperial Centre Wedding – Part II of II

Y’all, meet Meredith & Charles. Aren’t they both just gorgeous?

When I think about this wedding, I think about the word resilience. On their wedding day, Meredith and Charles were the DEFINITION of resilience. Of course, their whole wedding was jaw-droppingly gorgeous (everyone dressed to the nines, the perfect florals, a restored pink Cadillac crafted into a BAR!), but it ultimately centered around the love of Meredith & Charles (both the love they share for each other and the love their guests have for them).

Let me explain. The reception held at the Imperial Centre was inside-outside, and the beautiful tent that was set up outside was completely flooded by an ANGRY thunderstorm. Did that sink in? COMPLETELY flooded. Can you imagine? The band was out of commission, the outside food had to be rushed inside, the Cadillac bar was marooned… and so on. BUT… this is where my love for this couple comes in: it didn’t phase Charles and Meredith. Nope, not one bit! I don’t think I once saw them flustered by the situation. Everyone (the guests included) made the best out of the situation and danced their tushes off to an iPod in another area of the Imperial Centre. I just LOVE how everyone totally made the best out of a rather unfortunate situation. It really showcases the meaning behind the day.

Okay, enough out of me. On to my favorites from their day. Congrats to the happy couple! Y’all are the best. : )

MEREDITH + CHARLES – Imperial Centre Wedding – Part I of II

I had a lovely time documenting Charles & Meredith’s wedding weekend. They are good people! : ) Here are a few favorites of mine from their rehearsal dinner at the Benvenue Country Club in Rocky Mount, North Carolina. My favorite part of the evening was all the eloquent, touching, sometimes hilarious toasts. Stay tuned for their beautiful wedding to hit the blog soon!

I was told by the bartender that it was a special request to have Miller High Life at the party, so it’s also made a special appearance on the blog. : )

I have to share what Meredith’s mother said at the beginning of her speech. She held up the RSVP card to the wedding that Charles had filled out and it said: “You can count on me!” I love that.

KYLIE + MATT ENGAGED!

Kylie & Matt: LOVE this couple… I love their company, the locations they chose for their engagement session, their outfit choices and how adorable they are together. Love, love, love! We started out at Watson Mill Bridge State Park and then headed to a quaint little town called Comer to finish up the shoot. Enjoy my favorites, y’all — there are many! : )

PET ADOPTION

Adopting animals is something very near and dear to my heart. If I could, I would adopt 20 animals (per month!) just to save them from euthanasia (and I know many folks who would do the same). But, it’s just not possible. And there are so many dogs and cats that need help.

October is the American Humane Association’s Adopt-a-Dog Month. I’m going to try and help out the Floyd County Animal Control by photographing adoptable pets as much as my schedule will allow me. Right now, a lot of kittens are in need. If you know of anyone who can adopt in the area, please send them to the Floyd County Animal Control’s adoptapet.com site HERE. Or, be inspired and find an animal to adopt in your area.

Below are a few kittens that caught my eye; and there are many more on the site from which to choose. I have to admit… I’m not even a cat person, but don’t they just scream “take me home”?

*Thanks to Anna Routh Photography for the idea to help out these animals. Please adopt if you can!

AL - I want them ALL. I think it’s great you are doing such a thing. Cannot stand the idea of euthanasia on these adorable cuties. The first pic is a framer. Good luck with the project!
