COMING SOON

I have been sick now for a week. A WEEK. It started out as the flu (I think), but then my body downgraded it (woo white blood cells!) to a lingering cold. I hate taking medicine, so I’m pumping my body full of vitamin C, resting a good bit and hoping for the best. I’M SO OVER IT!

Many, many apologies that my sickness has delayed some posts. Here’s what is coming to the blog over the next several weeks. Excited to share! : )

Sasha + Sinisa’s engagement session (plus their pup, Chloe!)

Travis + Emily’s wedding

Kelly + Hudson’s engagement session

Victoria + Ben’s wedding

Janelle + Tim’s engagement session

Irvine family

Chris + Donna’s wedding

THE WALENCZYK FAMILY

Over a year ago (A YEAR? where does time go?!), I photographed this awesome family. I got to meet Ryan & Zoe (love me some twins!) just as they hit birthday #1. This year, I had the privilege of photographing them at 2 1/2 years. They are just as adorable as ever! I don’t want to spoil any holiday cards, so I tried (operative word) to keep this post short. Enjoy this family — these little kiddos have some spunk! : )

This look from Ryan totally cracks me up.

MEGHAN + THOMSON – Claxton Farm Wedding

People ask me all the time: what is your absolute favorite type of wedding to shoot? Well, here is the answer. : )

FARM WEDDINGS! Well, so long as I’m outside and capturing beautiful light and lovely folk. : ) Meghan and Thomson were married on a working farm in Weaverville, North Carolina in October. I’ve gotten to shoot at Claxton Farm before, and I was SO happy to go back. It was the last peak weekend for the turning leaves in the N.C. mountains, and I’m so glad I didn’t miss it. : )

Bride’s dress: Watters
Bride’s shoes: Nina
Bridesmaids’ dresses: Amsale
Groom and groomsmen attire: JoS. A. Bank
Makeup and hair: Cody’s Wedding Creations
Florals: Stacey Brown of the bloom room
Coordinator: Micah Hartley of Claxton Farm
Ceremony music: Bella Corda Ensemble
Cake: Icing on the Cake by Michelle Fountain
Band: Harwell Grice Band
Caterer: M7 Event Solutions & Catering
Programs: Sunny Sisson of Puddle Jumpin’ Cards

Meghan and Thomson are HUGE lovers of the outdoors; Meghan works on the ecology side of botany and Thomson loves to grow their own food, so the farm was a perfect space for them to exchange vows. You could say that they are at one with nature. : ) And their love of plants really shined through in the reception space — the flowers/herbs/plants were nothing short of stunning!

M&T, thanks for inviting me to document such a beautiful day. I enjoyed every second! : )

Loved Meghan’s dress. LOVED it.

Sweet moment between dad/daughter right before he walked her down the aisle. : )

FAVORITE photo. So much tenderness.

I don’t normally post family photos in the blog, but look at the backdrop!

They had a clever way of highlighting Oregon, their current home.

Stunning, right?

I want to hang this up in my kitchen.

NANA

My maternal grandmother passed away last weekend. She was a special woman to our whole extended family. My cousin, Missy, said it best: she was an inspiring entrepreneur, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, and she will be missed by many.

She gave me haircuts until I was in college. She taught me how to bowl. She could cook a mean meal. And she was full of love and patience. Nana, you lived a full 97 years. This is how I will remember you…
