JANNA + IKE – Hotel Indigo Wedding

Janna and Ike. These two cuties were a pleasure to be around. Smiles like this rarely left their faces the whole day!

The whole crew — family, wedding party, friends, guests — were all some of the nicest people I have ever met. They all just oozed sincerity. Janna & Ike were married in late March at Redeemer Presbyterian Church in Athens, Georgia. The celebration followed in the Rialto Room at Hotel Indigo (love that this hotel is LEED certified!). Here is who helped make their day extra meaningful:

Bride’s dress: David’s Bridal
Bride’s shoes: Nordstrom
Bridesmaids’ dresses: picked out by each girl; color scheme — taupe
Groom’s attire: Jim’s Formal Wear, rented through Christie’s Southern Soirees
Hair and makeup: Elizabeth Elliott
Florals: Dee Reising of Posh Petals
Planner/coordinator: Crevolyn Wiley and Emily Williams of Wonderful Events & Celebrations
Ceremony music: Joey Hokayem (pianist), Michelle Alexander (vocalist), Jenna Greene (vocalist) and Jason Gridley (guitar and vocalist)
Cupcakes: Truelove Celebrations
Groom’s cake: Cecilia Villaveces
Groom’s key lime pie: Mother of the groom : )
DJ: Jesse Pilkenton of JP Entertainment
Videographer: Jamey Moore of Moore Memories
Caterer: A Divine Event
Invitations & programs: Jessica Armstrong of Tiger Lily Invitations

Even though weddings take lots of planning and practice, I love how organic and genuine this wedding felt. It was so endearing to see how excited and grateful they BOTH were to be marrying each other. And my favorite part of the whole day was seeing Ike’s face during the couple’s first look — it was priceless! The love and happiness was palpable throughout the entire day, and I wish continued joy to the adorable newlyweds!

I LOVED the florals at this wedding.

You’re stunning, Janna!

Proud father seeing daughter for the first time. : )

The first look — told ya Ike’s face was priceless. : )

Stunning ladies as well. Loved the dress choices!

So fun to be around. : )

Ninja moves — go!

YES, the “little” girls wore TOMS (and it just so happens to be One Day Without Shoes today!). How cute?!

Sibling love. : )

How FUN is this wedding party!?

The different colored rose petals that were tossed down the aisle — yellow, red, white — have significant meaning in Ike & Janna’s relationship. The colors symbolize friendship, love and purity.

A really cute moment happened during the exchange of rings; Ike was SO excited to marry Janna that he didn’t even wait on the minister’s cue to speak. : )

Janna’s sister Jessa snuck in for a quick hug after the ceremony. : )

A few more “married” portraits at Hotel Indigo

LOVE this one.

The couple had Southern and Middle Eastern hors d’oeuvres, reflecting the coming together of both families.

Loved their favors — wildflower seeds!

YES. There was Thriller.

AND Whip My Hair. So amazing.

Jenny Tenney - Oh my goodness! This weekend looks amazing! That ring shot is to die for, Melissa!!! Love it! So many great portraits too! I would love to know how the bridesmaids picked out their dresses to coordinate so well. Did the bride give them swatches or something? Thinking about doing something similar for my bridesmaids.

Melissa - Thanks Jenny! Janna’s guidelines to the girls: a taupe dress, cocktail length. The girls sent a photo to her for “approval” before purchasing. :) Love this look!

Jessica Armstrong - I just stumbled upon your blog and saw these photos of Janna and Ike! I worked with Janna on her invitations and programs and am so happy to have found these photos. What a beautiful wedding and such a happy couple. She was a wonderful customer and such a sweet person. It is always nice, after working with a bride, to see how everything comes together. Beautiful photos and beautiful couple!
